Kick-off in the fixture is set for the slightly later, but still manageable time of 9:15pm (AEDT) on Friday, October 11, with the fixture to be held at the Shizuoka Stadium in Japan. The Wallabies, with a win here, can lock up top place in Pool D, however, with a heavy loss, a bonus point win for Fiji and a double bonus point loss for Wales in the same game (i.e. both teams score more than four tries, but Fiji win by less than seven), the Wallabies could still miss out on the quarter-finals.

In other words, following wins over everyone but Wales, it’s extremely unlikely that even a loss to Georgia – in a match they go into as heavy favourites anyway – would result in the Wallabies not playing knockout rugby.

Georgia, on the other hand, are out of contention to make the quarter-finals following what ended up being a heavy loss to Fiji in their last fixture, and will be playing for nothing more than pride in their final game before flying home.
